Moving towards sustainable food systems: A review of Indian food policy budgets

Moving towards sustainable food systems is a complex problem, which requires high level co-ordination, coherence, and integration of national policy. The aim this study to explore where environmental sustainability integrated into policy in India. A scoping review policies was conducted, findings mapped ministerial responsibility, estimated budget allocation, relevant Sustainable Development Goals. Fifty-two were identified, under the responsibility 10 ministries, with relevance six Content analysis identified references concentrated smallest budgetary allocation. Resources together political will are required integrate avoid conflicts more well-established health, societal, economic priorities.
